CHOOSING FINEST WALKING SHOES
Power walking, also known as brisk walking, is working every muscle in the body and contributes to your well-being! This accessible and efficient sport requires little equipment: a good pair of shoes!Follow this article to choose your walking shoes. WHY THIS SPORTS DOES REQUIRE SPECIFIC SHOES? Power walking is an accessible sport that requires physical effort (brisk walking is 5 to 10 km / h depending on the desired performance) and thus a walking equipment adapted to effort. Also, when you walk, foot movement is specific and different from other sports. The foot attack by the heel, and then runs diagonally without leaving the ground and ends his recovery by the toe. Walking shoes are developed to facilitate this movement, while helping to absorb the initial shock of your heel to the ground. WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GOOD WALKING SHOES? Sport walking shoes meet many basic needs of your foot. Two characteristics are essential, whatever level you are in: ● Cushioning: To reduce the strain in the attack with the heel. The cushioning required in the practice of brisk walking which is less important than when running is performed, where the impact between the foot and the ground occurs more abruptly. ● The place of the foot to make the right move when you walk, you need a shoe and insole that provide flexibility. CHOOSE THE SHOES WHICH IS ADAPTED TO PRACTICAL LEVEL When choosing your woman or man shoes to practice power walking, you have both the above criteria in mind: cushioning and foot roll. Another element to consider is still the level of practice you have or want to achieve: ● If you are a casual walker, you can focus on cushioning and foot roll. ● If you practice regular walking, you can opt for shoes which are particularly resistant to abrasion, wear and will be more durable. Finally, if you walk extensively, we recommend shoes that combine cushioning, foot roll, durability and breathability for optimum practice and are mostly equipped with a very comfortable boot [Comfortable walking shoes] without stitching and prevents injuries. |
Comfortable walking shoes
Whatever type of walking you are practicing, the shoe has to be comfortable. The best advice I can give you is go to a specialty store and talk with experienced vendors in comfort and fit (narrow / wide) of a pair of walking shoes. These stores are often equipped with small test platforms, rolling, in order to move up and down, which helps to define whether or not the foot moves in the shoe. For size, there is a rule that always works: Put on the shoes and without the tie, you should be able to slide the thumb finger between your heel and the back of the shoe.
The shoe must also be adjusted over the entire width without being too tight. Then, with the laces properly attached, check that the heel does not move vertically (bottom to top and vice versa) when walking on a flat surface, a rising slope and a downward slope.
Warning: Do not underestimate the importance of a quality hiking sock. They are equipped with reinforcements in the right places and do not have misplaced seams that could cause pressure or friction. The socks also contribute greatly to comfort. If you really have no equipment, stores generally provide available walking socks for footwear testing.
You should also check the tab and make sure it has a side gusset and is sufficiently padded. This provides both a good protection against water, dust and other debris and comfort on the instep, especially during climbs or steep descents.
Insoles quality also improves comfort. Many cheap hiking shoes have thin soles, often with very little maintenance of the foot arch. With the latest models, the standard insole can be improved somewhat. From my perspective, it's worth trying different specialized insoles to see if any improvements can be made. For example, if you have a fairly high arch or suffering from pronation, you should try adapted insoles.
Finally, it is best to try hiking shoes to earlier in the afternoon because the foot tends to swell during the day. Even if it does not achieve the volume of the foot as it can come close after a day of walking. Also remember to test your two feet, one is often bigger than the other
